Hi! my name is Manfred, and I am the founder and CEO of LessonWise. My background is in Mechanical Engineering and Music. I worked for many years as a design engineer in Germany until I came to the UK in 2014 to study music. During my music studies, I regularly workes as a private tutor in Maths, Physics and Music. Then, towards the end of 2019, I decided to take private tuition as my full-time vocation, and I rapidly grew my student base. I started delivering over 35 hours of tuition a week and I was consistently being recommended by parents and former students. More importantly, I could see first-hand the life-changing benefits private tutoring can have in any student's journey. I was able to help students unlock their true potential, gain confidence, improve their grades and become self-sufficient. However, despite this rapid success, I could already see the limit in the one-to-one model when it came to scaling my service and offering tuition to more students. I soon realised that the only way to grow as a private educator and effectively bring the benefits of private tutoring to the masses was by teaching groups of students online. Not being able to find any vehicle on the internet that could facilitate this for me and other independent educators, I decided to take matters into my own hands and I founded LessonWise. LessonWise is an all-in-one interactive platform designed to scale online tuition through group lessons. Our mission is to provide students with affordable access to private tuition in any subject and to help expert tutors scale their businesses.

I am a mechanical engineer with extensive experience (3000+ hours of tuition) as a tutor since 2014. My tutoring experience has ranged all the way from last-minute one-off exam preparation sessions to several months' tuition agreements on a vast variety of subjects. In 2019 I completed a six-month private tuition contract overseas where I worked as a private A level Maths and Physics tutor for a family, preparing their son for his A levels this year. I worked for this family since January 2019, carrying out tutoring sessions every day including weekends, working on past papers, revising the syllabus in-depth, working with different literature I have helped prepare students for IB Maths SL exams both online and face-to-face and I have helped prepare a student for his MAT exam. Moreover, I have successfully prepared various of my students for their Maths IGCSE/GCSEs (both higher and foundation tiers) and I have predominantly worked with exam board Edexcel; however, I have also worked with AQA and Cambridge boards among others. Moreover, I have successfully prepared various of my students for their 13+ and 11+ common entrance exams including St. Pauls, Sevenoaks and Godolphin & Latymer and I have just solidified a tuition agreement with a family based in the UK to tutor and support both their children for the whole of the next academic year, as they start 13+ level education at Eaton Square Upper School. Furthermore, I have consistently worked as an online tutor as well over the past three years. Providing tuition in A-level Maths and Physics, A-Level statistics and Mechanics, IB Maths SL, GCSE Physics and Maths and more. Moreover, some of my online tutoring experiences include preparing an engineering student for his Fluid and Solid Mechanics module exam this summer, providing online A level Maths tuition for a student who was aiming to get a confidence boost over the Easter break aiming to achieve a better preparation for the A level exams this year. During my tutoring sessions, I focus on solving past papers, revising the syllabus in-depth, working with different literature and books and developing stronger exam sitting techniques. Through a patient, versatile and kind yet firm approach, I help my students develop their true potential, build their overall confidence and achieve their goals. This is the list of subjects I have managed to specialize in: 11+ Maths: ISEB and public school entrance exams 13+ Maths & Science: ISEB and public school entrance exams (I)GCSE Maths: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC. (I)GCSE Physics: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC A-level Maths: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, OCR and WJEC A-level Physics: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC and Pre-U A-level Maths Further Maths: Edexcel, OCR -Mechanical Engineering topics: Fluid Mechanics, Solid Mechanics

Hi it’s been a while I just thought I would let you know I did very well I’m very happy and I got a 7 IN MATHS Which I am over the moon about I just wanted to say thank you so much you are the best tutor and I definitely would never be able to have gotten that if you hadn’t have been so great! Once agin Thank you!
I took Stella on as a GCSE Maths student in September 2019. She was dyslexic and up until the tuition started she had struggled prominently to cope with the workload from school and wasn't able to complete any Maths exams she would sit at school. She would constantly speak quite negatively of herself and her Maths skills, and she had completely given up on any hopes of improving or getting slightly better at it. She was predicted a 4. The first step for me was to drastically reframe her image of herself and her negative self-talk. I started reinforcing the idea that taking a bit more time to figure out Maths questions didn't mean she was unable to do it. Not remembering any aspect of the syllabus didn't mean you are 'dumb', it probably meant you hadn't been taught the syllabus with enough care or you hadn't spent sufficient time revising. Similarly, needing to read a question several times to understand it did not mean she didn't know the syllabus; and rather than it being a negative aspect it could be a positive advantage as it meant she would not miss any details and she would end up understanding the question much better. Through a patient, kind yer firm approach, we covered the entire GCSE syllabus topic by topic over 6 months. By constantly reminding her that it was indeed possible to improve at Maths (even if she was convinced she wasn't capable), and by continuously helping her believe in herself, Stella reached a level of motivation she had never experienced before. Further, I made sure to establish a rigorous, extensive and regular revision regime so that she could effectively internalise the syllabus. Stella scored a 7 in her Maths GCSEs
