Dominique S. | Parent Miles's unfailingly patient, imaginative and inspiring approach has helped our son immensely with GCSE English Literature. With Miles's input he's gone from a 4 to 7 and was well on track to achieve 8 or above before lockdown cancelled exams. We've actually kept their weekly classes going because our son was getting so much out of them – he is looking to Maths and Physics A Levels, but the essay-writing and information gathering skills Miles has taught will been invaluable in any field. Great communication, too. Highly recommended. Olly H. | Student Miles is, by far, the best tutor I have come across. He is organised, efficient, and attentive. I could not recommend him highly enough. James P. | Parent Miles has assisted my son in improving his writing skills in particular the structure of stories; great use of language and punctuation; and bringing out his imaginative ideas. He has also improved my son's ability to review and analyse the books that he is reading. He has encouraged him to push himself into reading my mature novels - although this can be quite daunting for a 13 year old, my son has seen the benefits of this challenge in being able to read books now at the same level as his peers. Lucas C. | Student Miles is a fantastic tutor and an extremely kind person. He helped both me and several of my classmates learn the ins and outs of writing a beautiful paper. He is a skilled writer and orator, and has a knack for making the difficult understandable. If you're lucky enough to learn from Miles you will be guaranteed a tutor who pushes you to exceed your own standards but also is kind, funny, and enjoyable to be around. Nadya G. | Connex Academic Advisors, Educational Consultant Miles is a reliable tutor that offers prompt communication to all parties, providing constructive feedback on the progress of the tutoring. He is always ready to take any personal feedback on board and adjust accordingly to improve any aspect of his teaching methodology. I would like to also highlight the high level of engagement he is able to demonstrate during his work with kids. He has brilliant communicational and presentation skills, that combined with his tutoring experience make him a fantastic and reliable tutor. I would highly recommend Miles. Germana B. | Parent Miles is a passionate, energetic and very knowledgeable tutor. He has been tutoring my son for GCSE English Language and Literature for the last seven months. Miles' style of tutoring is innovative and takes into account the student’ personal situation and particular needs. He really helped my son engage with his studies and stimulate him into taking a greater interest in the subject, as well as teaching him effective exam techniques. As a result, my son achieved excellent grades at GCSE. Tia C. | Student I never really needed a tutor until I came to Y11, when my friend recommended Miles as an English and History tutor. Immediately, after only a phone call to set up a session time, I felt comfortable due to his incredibly friendly attitude - which I think is extremely important for a student to be able to interact to a full extent in lessons and feel comfortable in asking questions. I specifically asked for content-based lessons as History GCSE has an abundance of it. Although being content based, Miles was still able to create interactive sessions with detailed yet understandable slides which I could regularly review, leading to a 9 in my history mock exam. I would 100% recommend Miles’ for both skill or content tutoring in English and History. Over the past half year, Miles’ has helped me feel more confident in my essay writing (including both analysis and structure) as well as helping me to achieve a 9 in my mock History exam (97%) which was one of my weaker subjects before Miles’s help.
