Provided pro-bono homework support to Y3-6 students at a CoE Primary School in Earl’s Court for an academic year

Successfully designed a 14-week 7+ English course focusing on creative writing and comprehension.  The course was re-commissioned with four groups of students over a 4-month period in the run-up to the 7+ exam

Successfully designed a two-week intensive English language course (14h p/w) to prepare an international student (Beijing) for an entrance exam.  Within two weeks his grade rose from 40% to 75% and gained entry into his first-choice school. I continue to prepare him for the ISEB Pre-Test, 11+ and 13+ exam

In this role I delivered weekly online English language classes to fifteen Russian students aged between 6-12 years old who were taking part in a professional Harry Potter themed cooking class.

I never really needed a tutor until I came to Y11, when my friend recommended Miles as an English and History tutor. Immediately, after only a phone call to set up a session time, I felt comfortable due to his incredibly friendly attitude - which I think is extremely important for a student to be able to interact to a full extent in lessons and feel comfortable in asking questions. I specifically asked for content-based lessons as History GCSE has an abundance of it. Although being content based, Miles was still able to create interactive sessions with detailed yet understandable slides which I could regularly review, leading to a 9 in my history mock exam.

Over the past half year, Miles’ has helped me feel more confident in my essay writing (including both analysis and structure) as well as helping me to achieve a 9 in my mock History exam (97%) which was one of my weaker subjects before Miles’s help.
