Hi, I’m Alex! I’m originally from London, and sat the BMAT myself in 2015. I scored 9.0 on section 1, 6.9 on section 2 and 4A on section 3, allowing me to achieve a place at the University of Oxford to study Medicine. Since 2017, I have tutored prospective medical students on the BMAT, and have used this experience to develop my tutoring approach.
I graduated with a First in Medical Sciences in 2019, and will complete my degree this summer before starting work as a Junior Doctor in West London in August. During my time at Oxford, I have achieved proxime accessit to the Gibbs Prize in 2018, the Sir Roger Bannister Prize for Neurology in 2022, and a Merit for my performance in final exams this year, alongside other awards.
Alongside my studies at Oxford, I have carried out research placements at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, as well as Imperial College London. In my spare time, I am a keen cyclist and footballer.
Private Medical Admissions Tutor for companies including Oxbridge Admissions, Private Tuition Club, Lionheart Educations, Kings Tutors, TutorChase and Medschool Admissions.
Taught BMAT and UCAT courses to individuals and groups.
Also ran mock interviews and interview training, and taster sessions/general admissions or personal statement advice.
I have found Alex to be a committed and dedicated student over 3 years of teaching him. He was punctual and approached our tutorials with a professional attitude.
Alex has worked for a number of tuition companies in the past, as well as offering teaching to fellow medical students through the Newsom Davis Neurological Society at Oxford. He has developed his teaching skills through 5 years of experience in similar roles.
I’m happy to recommend Alex for this role at Lessonwise and believe he will be a great help to any students he teaches.

Overall an outstanding tutor with an excellent track record. Couldn't recommend him enough!
Alex helped me greatly in my BMAT preparation. In lessons with him he would go through questions with me in a way that helped me see how I needed to approach the questions to get them right faster and more accurately. He taught me fundamental concepts that could easily be applied to lots of different question types which was invaluable in the exam. He also always answered any specific questions that I had and would go through them with me to ensure I understood not just what was the right answer but how to get to it. Most importantly, I always found Alex approachable in lessons and eager to help me improve! My lessons with Alex helped me achieve a high BMAT score in all sections, which aided me in securing an offer for my first choice of Medicine at the University of Cambridge.
