The SAT is a standardised test used by US colleges and universities to assess a student’s readiness for higher education. It consists of two main sections: Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing. Each section is scored out of 800, with a total possible score of 1600. The test measures skills in algebra, problem-solving, reading comprehension, grammar, and writing. While the SAT is not required by all colleges, many US universities use it as part of their admissions process to evaluate academic potential alongside other factors like high school grades and extracurricular activities.
